• Returned Peace Corp volunteers, military and Foreign Service families, and other U.S. citizens with international experiences.

• Second generation immigrants

• Individuals involved in international and cross-cultural adoptions.

Health Psychology

Some areas of concern I treat include:

• Ongoing depression and anxiety

• Reproductive health and fertility

• Chronic pain

• Different cultural beliefs about healing

• Health issues affecting relationships and ability to function in daily life

• Concerns about sexuality and sexual functioning

Is group psychotherapy for me?

Group psychotherapy is suitable for a large variety of problems and difficulties, including people who would like to develop their interpersonal skills as well as people with emotional concerns such as anxiety and depression.  Working in group differs from individual therapy in that it provides a unique opportunity to learn about yourself in relation to others and understand how relationships affect your experiences.  It provides even more information to change one’s own pattern of thought and behavior and to respond more effectively to those of others.  Often clients benefit from pursuing individual treatment at the same time as group treatment.

Will my insurance pay for my sessions?

Some plans will reimburse for my services, so you may want to check with yours to see if they will cover psychotherapy with an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) of your choice. I request payment at each session, but I am happy to prepare a monthly statement for you to submit to your insurance company.
